Bus Ticket Payment System
Existing Social Problem
The bus transportation organization faced several challenges regarding fare payment by passengers, including:
- Printing paper tickets is costly.
- Unauthorized and counterfeit paper tickets, produced by fraudsters, result in financial losses.
- The exchange of paper tickets between passengers and drivers can lead to the transmission of diseases.
Technologies Used
Smart cards, electronic devices
Proposed Solution
It was proposed that the bus transportation organization implement a system consisting of software and devices installed on buses. In this plan, passengers who intend to use city buses must purchase a smart ticket card, which can be recharged at designated kiosks when necessary.
Upon boarding the bus, passengers can simply place their card on the device, and the fare for the trip will be automatically deducted from the card’s balance.
In this system, each bus is equipped with a card reader to facilitate the electronic deduction of the fare from passengers’ cards.
