School Service Management and Monitoring System
Identified Social Issue
The Ministry of Education has reported a lack of precise oversight of school bus drivers’ behavior. In some cases, drivers exceed speed limits on certain routes or take unconventional paths. Additionally, there have been reports indicating that drivers sometimes fail to pick up certain students in the morning, claiming they were present at the pickup location when the student was not. On the other hand, parents are concerned about their children’s safety and are unsure when their child will arrive at school or why they have not yet returned home.

Proposed Solution
We decided to install GPS devices on school buses and develop three map-based software solutions to address the identified issues. The first software is designed for the Ministry of Education and school administrators, the second for the drivers, and the third as an application for parents. The primary goal of this project is to organize all private and public school transport services, monitor their movements and commute times, evaluate driver behavior, and ultimately ensure student safety and provide peace of mind for parents. In this system, a GPS tracker is installed on each school vehicle to monitor both the driver and the vehicle’s behavior. These devices enable online viewing of the front and rear of the bus as well as its interior for both administrators and parents. Additionally, each student is authenticated using a contactless tag when entering and exiting the bus.
Driver Application Features:
- Display the routes the driver should follow to reach the next student’s home.
- Show the photo of the student who needs to be picked up at the next stop.
- Provide access to the student’s contact information in case the driver needs to make contact.
- Record any delays caused by the student’s late arrival.
Parent Application Features:
- View the service arrival times at home or school.
- View the driver’s personal information and photo, including contact number.
- View the current route the bus is taking.
- See the times when their child enters and exits the bus in front of the home and school.
- Receive notifications about unnecessary stops made by the driver along the route.
- Receive alerts about bus breakdowns.
- Receive notifications about delays due to traffic or possible route issues.
- Request services for all or specific days of the week.
- Check service usage, estimate costs, and manage payments through the app wallet, including online top-up options.
- Provide feedback on the driver’s behavior, punctuality, vehicle quality, etc.
- File complaints directly to the management.
